My favorite baby

While I was in West Palm Beach for Thanksgiving, I had the pleasure of photographing my favorite baby, Donnie. He was a lot of fun! He's almost a year old now (His birthday is December 11), and he's really figured out what cameras are for and that he's adorable. These are my favorites:

There's no place like home

I think that Dorothy was maybe on to something- being home is a good thing. I can't complain, because although I was away for two weeks, I was in Paris and West Palm Beach.

Paris was great. It was cold, busy, and a little stressful workwise (transit strikes make everything a little more difficult!!), but I did get the opportunity to do some picture taking while I was there.

I'll post the rest (there are a ton!) shortly!

On the road again!

I'm leaving Friday afternoon for PARIS! I just got a new tripod in the mail that's lighter and more compact than the tripod I have, so it will be making the trip with me. It will allow me to get those nice night shots a little better, without the shaking!

I'm going for work, so it won't be all play, but I will try and take (and post) as many good pictures as possible!

Go Gators!

I had the pleasure of watching the Gators kill Vanderbilt for Homecoming last weekend. The weekend started out on Friday night with Gator Growl in the skybox, complete with back stage access to the Lynard Skynard performance.

I wish I could take credit for the other pictures, below, but I can just take credit for the first one, who was the photographer for the others.

Shallow depth of field

One of my favorite photo effects is creating shallow depth of field. That basically means that an element in the picture is in focus, while the background (or foreground) is blurry. It makes for a nice effect, causing an element to "pop."

The ones below are the horrible fortune Jon got in his fortune cookie, my better fortune, and a rose.

Viva Las Vegas!

I just got back from Las Vegas for work. I love visiting the city- for about three days. It's easy to get your fill of Las Vegas pretty quickly. I like to gamble a little bit, but I mainly like to go see the hotels, eat the food, and watch the crazy people.
